Multi-Objective Time-Cost Trade-Off Analysis in Critical Chain Project Networks Using Pareto Simulated Annealing

This paper presents a new multi-objective Time-Cost Trade-Off (TCTO) model for Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) networks. The presented model helps crashing a project with little, or no, additional cost. As combinatorial optimization problems' finding optimal decisions are difficult and is time consuming; considering the number of possible permutations involved for TCTO optimization, therefore the proposed is developed using the principle of Pareto Simulated Annealing algorithms (PSA). With its robust optimization search the PSA model minimizes the total project cost -as the first objective function -and maximize the probability of completion at a given time as the second objective.
